Rebates & Incentives

As a Rockland, Westchester, or Orange County resident, you could be eligible for thousands in rebates to fund your insulation and air sealing upgrades. NYSERDA offers incentives to all kinds of families regardless of household income, with more funding available to low- and moderate-income households.

In addition, many local utility companies provide their own financial incentives for insulation upgrades. Altogether, these rebates can help you save a significant amount of money when you invest in a weatherization upgrade with Energy Evolution. Here’s what you may qualify for.

NYS Insulation Rebates

NYSERDA offers substantial rebates. These incentive programs are primarily funded by the New York System Benefits Charge (SBC), a small surcharge added to your utility bill every month. Since you’re already contributing, you might as well utilize the programs!

NYSERDA weatherization rebates are divided into two programs: Comfort Home, available to nearly all homeowners regardless of income, and Empower+, available to low- and moderate-income homeowners and renters.

Note on Rebates: Rebate amounts, availability, and eligibility change frequently. For the most current information, contact Energy Evolution for an estimate on how much you can save.

NYSERDA Comfort Home Program

The Comfort Home program provides up to $3,000 in rebates for weatherization upgrades like insulation and air sealing. These help you reduce the cost of your installation with Energy Evolution. After completing an initial, no-cost Home Energy Assessment with our team, you’ll have the option to pick from two different rebate packages and add-ons:

NYSERDA Empower+

Empower+ rebates are available to low- and moderate-income households. Downstate households, which include those in Rockland, Westchester, and Orange County, are eligible for more funding than upstate households.

These rebates cover a wide range of energy efficiency projects, including insulation, air sealing, heat pumps, and electrical panel upgrades. Funding is prioritized for core energy-efficient improvements like insulation and air sealing.

Under Empower+:

  • Low-income downstate households are eligible for no-cost improvements, capped at $14,000 per project, but with other rebates, this amount can be even higher.
  • Moderate-income downstate households are eligible for an incentive covering 50% of the improvements, capped at $7,000.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You are a homeowner or renter of a one-to-four family dwelling.

Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate (HEAR) Program

If you qualify for Empower+ rebates, you also qualify for HEAR rebates. You can receive up to $1,600 for insulation and air sealing on top of the rebates received through Empower+.

NYSERDA Financing

NYSERDA offers low-interest-rate loans that help cover any remaining costs not paid by Comfort Home or Empower+ rebates. You can qualify for up to $25,000 in financing. These are not rebates and must be paid back.

Interest rates and loan amounts differ for each household. Schedule your no-cost Home Energy Assessment with us to help determine what you’re eligible for.

Local Utility Rebates

As a customer of Orange & Rockland Utilities or Con Edison, you may also be eligible for their utility-funded rebate programs. O&R’s program is called Sealed. Con Edison’s program is called Weather Ready.

Rebate amounts and availability change frequently. Energy Evolution can help you understand which programs are currently active and how much extra you could receive for home insulation in Rockland, Westchester, and Orange County.
